Ways to Support Your Local Aerie
As a result of COVID-19 restrictions, many Aeries throughout the Southeast are being forced to find ways to ensure appropriate funding, contribute to the community and charities, while keeping members connected and engaged. Remember, we are PEOPLE HELPING PEOPLE. Be sure you are living up to that statement and remember why you became a member in the first place. Here are some ways you can help support your local Aerie during these trying times:
DonateAs most of you heard, we had a plumbing crisis. The bottom line is that we had to have the septic tanks cleaned out and replace two pumps with a total cost of over twelve thousand dollars. The discovery phase was the crap (no pun intended) we pumped out of the tanks: Adult diapers, sanitary napkins, rubbers, and that is all we could see. No one wanted to sift through it and find other things.

We all have things we are good at or enjoy doing; those talents could be put to good use around the club. Offer those talents to your local Aerie - get involved!
From Kitchen help to routine maintenance - from party planning to administrative tasks - it all functions on the generosity of volunteers. If we each took one hour out of our schedules to dedicate to the Aerie, we would have over 3,000 hours of volunteers to help perform tasks around the Aerie. It's all about "People Helping People." |
Be A Participant
|
Participate in the Events your local Aerie is currently hosting. Offer to help at such events - you would be surprised at how little effort would be required if more people became participants! Each Event you attend helps the Aerie do more at the club and in the community. Holiday Events always benefit the various charities we support. Applying the funds raised at these events ensures we are giving back to the community we live in. Meals purchases contribute to some of the great efforts of the Auxiliary like Breakfast With Santa and the other various charities it supports. Most importantly, the Events are just plain fun! So, come out, have a great time and help us help those who need it most!

"We don't have to engage in grand, heroic actions to participate in the process of change. Small acts, when multiplied by millions of people, can transform the world." |
